JOY'S PLACE

Joy's PlaceJoy's Place
Island Surf Bldg.

Kihei, Maui, HI

Joy's Place is a deli style restaurant with a few tables and excellent organic food. This spot is tucked away off of South Kihei Road, serving delicious health food. Joy is usually there in the open kitchen with at least one other employee. Many people enjoy dropping by and grabbing some food for the beach. This is a great way to save money by not spending a fortune at lunch else where. Though for a quick lunch, prices are still high. You'll find that Joy's prices are reasonable once the organics of your meal are considered. Other than sandwiches and salads, Joy's Place also makes great smoothies with whole fresh fruit. With all of the fast food and junk available in kihei, Joy's Place is a breath of fresh air. Check out their raw food options. Most of the menu is vegetarian with many vegan options.

Joys Place changed our lives. While we were visiting Maui we were on vacation after a busy summer on Cape Cod where we had our vegetarian restaurant. We could never figure out why everyone made such a big deal when because we were only open for dinner 3 nights and lunch 7 days. The customers would stare at the closed sign for minutes sometimes while we were cleaning. We were in Kihei for 10 days. We found Joys Place our first day and went there every other day. One day I drove over there and they were closed! I pulled up to the building and couldn't believe my eyes. I got out of the jeep and walked up to the door and stared at the sign trying to will the place to open. All of a sudden I got it. I loved the tempeh peanut collard wrap so much that I never tried anything else on the menu. We LOVE JOYS PLACE!!! Today, four years since we visited Maui and 1 1/2 years since we have left the Cape and reopened our restaurant in Western Mass we decided to do a special in honor of that great wrap and called it "Ode to Joy".
As far as the prices go...I don't even remember them. The food was so fresh and so good, the service was friendly and we never waited long for our food. It is a rare thing to go out for food and feel satisfied and well fed. Joy's provided this for us. Joy's Rocks!!!

Great food and really friendly service. yah, the price is higher than a regular sandwich, but they arent regular sandwiches. Everything is fresh, organic and locally grown. I go here everytime I cruise down to Kihei.

Good food. It was a little too expensive for me though. I don't like spend that much for something across a deli counter.
